Vogue Williams devastated her radio listeners by announcing that she was leaving her Sunday morning show.
The former model has worked with UK radio station Heart since 2020 and has often shared the fun she was having behind the scenes on her social media.
However, Vogue decided to resume her Sundays for family time, thrilled to have “lazy mornings with my babies” and her husband Spencer Matthews.
Vogue posted a photo of herself on her Instagram account in the very familiar Heart studio, where she woke many sleeping heads on a Sunday morning.
“What a brilliant almost two years it’s been at @thisisheart,” she began.
“I’m leaving my Sunday morning show, but just heard the amazing news that my girlfriend and fabulous host @katrina_ridley is taking over!
“I love radio, loved working with Heart, but found it hard not to have days off most weeks. Sunday is going to be my day of relaxation, lazy mornings with my babies and Spen!
“The @global family is stuck with me and my podcasts though. I can miss my funny and excited v producer @petemayfm, never knew a scintillating person at 5am! All the fun with Petey Pie. ‘
Many of her friends applauded Vogue as she shared her decision, with her radio replacement Katrina Ridley writing, “We will miss you !!! Xxx but enjoy your late Sunday mornings! Text me. ‘
Meanwhile, her former producer Pete May left a cheeky comment on her post: “SMELL YA L8R [sic]. ‘
“Too bad they didn’t give you a time slot on weekdays or on Saturdays, you’re too good for 5 am on a Sunday,” one fan exclaimed.
Another urged Vogue to continue its podcasts – she hosts one with her husband Spencer and another with comedian Joanne McNally – with a lot of echoes.
Although the Dublin woman has quit radio, she could be back on the small screen alongside one of her podcast hosts.
Earlier this month, Joanne revealed that she and Vogue are hoping to “bully” a TV station into giving them their own TV series.
