IRVING, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Salem Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: SALM) today announced that Mike Shields, Managing Director in San Francisco, has announced his intention to retire in June 2022.

David Santrella, Managing Director, said, “Mike has led the Salem San Francisco cluster for 11 years and has built a strong team, a great culture and delivered year-over-year revenue and operating profit growth. Mike has had an excellent career that includes almost 50 years in the media and has been a pleasure to work with. We wish them many blessings!

The company also announced that Segar Kannan, general manager of sales in Portland, will become the next general manager in San Francisco. Mr. Kannan worked for 23 years at Salem, starting as Account Manager, Local Sales Manager and the last 15 years as General Sales Manager. Mr. Santrella added “he is a leader who has worked hard, led his team to digital revenue excellence and earned this opportunity at the next level of leadership.” Kannan said, “I’m looking forward to a new chapter in this journey and I’m excited to see what God’s plan is for me, the stations and the city.”
