Umhlobo Wenene FM presenters are appealing to the public to donate for their sick colleague and singer Bulelani Koyo.
Koyo, who is also an award-winning gospel artist, has worked for Eastern Cape-based radio station SABC for over five years. He presents the radio’s choral music program on Sundays.
In an interview with the station on Wednesday evening, the Lizalis’Idinga Lakho hitmaker revealed he was battling cancer and took time off from work.
One of his co-workers, a DJ and breakfast show host Phiwe “Pastor the DJ” Nozewu, took to Instagram to ask for donations to help Koyo buy medicine.
“I think you have heard about the state of health of our colleague. If not, Bulelani Koyo is not well,” Nozewu wrote.
“Through him, as colleagues, we thought we should help by asking people for financial support, no matter how little. pains.
In March, Sunday World reported that the radio station had lost another presenter, Luzuko Koti, who was also battling cancer.
He is my colleague on Umhlobo Wenene Fm and he is fighting a terrible disease, we are asking for financial support for his treatment.
