LINCOLN, Illinois (KTVI) – Admit it, you enjoy browsing real estate listings in your spare time. We cannot blame you. Scrolling through homes you don’t intend to buy can be great entertainment, especially when you stumble upon a truly unique residence, like the house at 110 Edgar St. in Lincoln, Illinois.

The newly remodeled home just north of Springfield has garnered a lot of attention on social media, along with an abundance of jokes.

Nicknamed the “goth at home” by Twitter user Zillow Gone Wild, this single-family home stands out for its darkness.

Real estate agent Seth Goodman said he’s always been fascinated by the octagon-shaped property. He bought the house in August 2021 and immediately set about renovating it for possible resale.

But after installing a new all-black shingled roof, Goodman took it a step further and had the entire exterior redone with black gutters and matching vinyl siding. Goodman liked the look so much that he took a page from Mick Jagger’s playbook and said “Paint it black” for the interior.

The 1,547 square foot home features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fireplace, an attached three-car garage, and skylights to provide plenty of natural light.

Goodman said he generated a lot of interest in the house, but even if it didn’t sell, he wouldn’t be against keeping it.

Below, we’ve attached some of our favorite Twitter reactions to the list. Most seem to like the all-black look, although it’s not exactly gothic. During this time, you can view additional photos of the house and find the real estate agent’s contact details on Zillow.
