Kate Ritchie announced she was leaving her popular radio show Nova last month, much to the dismay of her listeners.

“It was a really tough decision. [to take a break from the show] because I’ve been working since I was eight years old and I think I thrive on having a schedule every day,” she said on The Juggling Act podcast.

“I’m not good at sitting with myself. I’ve done so many great things this year, but it was just time to trust myself to say “this is what I need”.

Ritchie reminded podcast listeners that she plans to return to radio station Nova next year.

“I’m not going anywhere, and I guess I’m in a very lucky position that Nova was completely supportive,” she explained, adding; “They’re totally supportive and generous saying, if that’s what you need, we want you back in 2023. So go ahead and do it.”
