Local music producer, DJ and radio host Kutloano “Da Kruk” Nhlapo leaves South Africa to fly high in Los Angeles. Da Kruk is about to host a new radio show called The Africa Union on the California-based digital broadcasting platform, Dash Radio.

According to YFM, Da Kruk was one of the figureheads of the popular radio station before leaving in March 2021. He hosted a weekly dance show called The Players Club and an alternative show titled Sinday Social.

According to Media Update, he also created the first business platform for amapiano called Amapiano time.

It has also won several accolades, including Content Producer of the Year four years in a row.

“I believe I have contributed to everything I set out to do when I joined the station in 2011 and after careful consideration I have decided to close this chapter and pursue new opportunities.”

He also hosts a strictly amapiano radio show on UK Drums radio called WADA International.


Da Kruk joins Dash Radio for a radio show that will begin Friday, April 1. The award-winning radio host will introduce young African artists to the world through his show, The Africa Union. The likes of Snoop Dogg, Kylie Jenner and Lil Wayne have all hosted shows on Dash Radio.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, March 22, the award-winning radio host said it was surreal to join one of Hollywood’s most popular radio stations.

Da Kruk said he was first introduced to Dash Radio through a close friend of his and was a huge fan of Snoop Dogg’s radio show.

“I’m super excited to broadcast in Hollywood and create an authentic gateway for young African artists to become the next global superstars on their own terms,” ​​Da Kruk told Media Update.
