An Evanescence fan shared a funny story on Reddit of how she ended up taking over a local radio station in 2004.

From u/losvestidosrojos, “In 2004, I won a DJ contest at the easy-listening radio station in my tiny hometown. I started playing an hour of deep Evanescence tracks and ruined everyone’s morning commute. She even shared a photo of herself in a studio.

Many Reddit users commented on this very funny but brief story with one user writing, “It was the ‘deep cuts’ track that had me laughing for a good minute. You weren’t even trying to win people over by going with the bangers, straight to your obscure favorites. Brilliant.”

Another user commented, “Love that you not only picked a band that wouldn’t be played on the station (like any kid that age) but you had no desire to change it . Evanescence from start to finish. u/losvestidosrojos replied, “Lol, I remember they politely asked me at one point if there was something in the station catalog that I would like to play. I took the hint and spent a while on Cat Stevens because that’s what my dad listened to.
