Denali National Park and Preserve, established in 1917, is Alaska’s most iconic park. Our guests at this show are Sharon Stiteler, Park Public Affairs Officer, and Tucker Chenowith, Park Ranger South District. As the park opens to summer tourism and the mountain welcomes its first climbers of the season, Sharon and Tucker will cover the ground from Denali’s first successful summit in 1913 to the impact of the Pretty Rocks landslide. on trips to the park this summer. .

Eric Bork, or you can just call him “Bork” because everyone does, is KSKA-FM’s Director of FM Operations. He oversees the day-to-day operations of FM broadcasting. He produces and edits episodes of Outdoor Explorer, the Alaska-focused outdoor program. He also maintains the web posts for this show. You may have heard him replacing Morning Edition or hosting All Things Considered and you can still find him operating the soundboard for one of the live streamed programs. After escaping from the Detroit area at age 18, Bork traveled to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he earned a communications/broadcasting degree from Northern Michigan University. He spent time managing the college radio station, working for the local NPR affiliate, then top 40 radio in Michigan before coming to Alaska to work his first summers. After moving to Chicago, it only took five years to convince him to return to Alaska in 2010. When he’s not involved in great radio programming, he probably rides a bike, thinks about riding a bike, dreams of bicycles, reads a book or plans the next place to go. Two more continents to conquer!
