Local storyteller and songwriter Jeff DeMark and his band Inscrutable Rabbit will present a benefit show of original stories and songs for Humboldt Hot Air, Arcata’s newest online radio station.

The show will take place on December 12 at 2 p.m. at the Arcata Playhouse, 1251 Ninth St., Arcata. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at arcataplayhouse.org or by calling 707-822-1575.

All spectators must present proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and wear a mask. The seats are limited.

DeMark performs with music veterans Ron Sharp on bass, John Dillon on guitar and banjo, and drummer Paul DeMark.

Jeff DeMark has been performing in Humboldt County for over 30 years. He has written five theatrical storytelling shows, including “Went to Lunch, Never Came Back”, “Hard as a Diamond, Soft as Dirt”, and “Writing My Way Out of Adolescence”. Three of the shows debuted at Dell’Arte’s Mad River Festival to sold-out houses. He has toured extensively with shows from San Francisco to New York. In recent years, Jeff DeMark has focused on writing songs and shorter stories, as well as live music with storytelling.

The December 12 performance will feature a variety of songs written over the past year.
