PITTSBURGH– The head coach Jeff Capel joined the Panthers Insider Show with the host Pat Bostick on flagship station 93.7 The Fan on Saturday morning to talk about Pitt’s returning core as well as his additions to the 2022-23 roster.

Panthers capped offseason roster overhaul with mid-June signing of top-35 guard Dior Johnson. The four-star prospect joins a veteran backcourt rotation that includes 1,000-point scorers Jamarius Burton(1003), Nelly Cummings (1,112) and Nike Sibande (1,570) as well as the transfer of graduates Greg Elliot and keep JUCO Cashius McNeilly.


The Panthers also return in 2022 with honorable mention All-ACC John Hughley IV (14.7 ppg., 7.9 rpg., 9 double-doubles).


Pitt made eight additions to the list – Cummings, Elliott, Johnson, McNeilly, Blake Hinson, Fede Federiko and twins Guillermo Diaz Graham and Jorge Diaz Graham – since the end of the 2021-22 season.
