Let’s not say that Bottega Veneta does not appreciate the arts. Having already brought END and its landmark Andy Warhol campaign, the Italian luxury house has aligned itself with London-based media platform NTS for its award-winning radio show.
NTS is the station of choice for taste chefs like Virgil Abloh, Carhartt WIP and Slam Jam, with its armada of cutting edge selectors informing the station’s reputation as a top cult favorite.
Perfect territory for Bottega, therefore. Doubly fitting that the social media-shy luxury label is tapping into the old-school medium of radio.
Granted, it would be funny for a luxury brand to partner with a zoo-like morning show (“Be the tenth caller, get a free padded tape!”), but NTS is definitely the right place for a brand with the sophistication of Bottega representative.
Bottega Radio’s first broadcast was on April 7 and will continue to go down every subsequent month this year, streaming for free on the NTS site and Bottega Veneta’s app.
Bottega’s debut on NTS kicked off with a party in the West End – you really had to be there, but even if you weren’t you can still stream the first episode of Bottega Radio, which saw Tim Zha ( better known as Organ Tapes) and Como La Flor host Jazmin curates a mix of Latin rhythm, atmospheric ambience and subdued electronica.
Expect future broadcasts from Bottega Radio to attract equally thoughtful guests who reflect the house’s understatedly elevated aesthetic, both contemporary and classic.
The best thing you can do after being in a Bottega store: make your apartment sound like one.
